About MITMI

In the background of the Macao SAR government promoting medical technology innovation and industrialization as an important entry point for measured economic diversification, the establishment of Macau Institute for Translational Medicine and Innovation (MITMI) proposed by Zhong Nanshan, the Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, successfully set up in the University of Macau with the support of Zhong’s team due to their  outstanding achievements and extensive international prestige in the field of biomedical and appealing power as well as the Macao SAR government’s advising and assistance.  In response to the requirements for the transformation of Macao’s pharmaceutical achievements, MITMI, as a professional service organization, which is aim to facilitate the transformation of innovative scientific and technological achievements of medicine, medical devices and diagnostic reagents of clinical utility in the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area, other regions in China’s mainland, and even the world, through Macao.

Founded in 2021, MITMI focuses on the exploration and establishment of a disciplinary system for the study of innovative pharmaceutical regulatory policies, and building a comprehensive and effective achievement transformation mechanism which is suitable for the demands of Macau’s pharmaceutical industry, and would be a well-known think tank in this field for service of Macau’s economic and social development.
