Choi Peng Cheong, Director of Pharmaceutical Administration Bureau, and his delegation visited Macau Institute for Translational Medicine and Innovation

Choi Peng Cheong, Director of Pharmaceutical Administration Bureau (ISAF), and his delegation visited Macau Institute for Translational Medicine and Innovation (MITMI) on Feb 23, 2022, greeted by Zhong Weiyue and Yang Zifeng, members of MITMI Steering Committee and Zhao Yonghua, Interim Associate Head of MITMI.

Prof. Yang Zifeng hosted the procedure of the meeting. Firstly, interim associate head, Yonghua Zhao introduced the work progress of MITMI since the Plaque Unveiling Ceremony held and proposed future service plan for the Macau government and ISAF. He stated that MITMI has a rich experts resources in the field of pharmaceutical supervision and devoted to form a think tank of pharmacoscientific supervision that further to assist the research and development of pharmaceutical supervision scientific system in Macau, as well as to recommend and launch high-quality pharmaceutical projects and industries in Macau.

Subsequently, Prof. Tang Jianyuan and prof. Zhang Lei, members of MITMI Academic Committee and Prof. Zhou Yuehua, expert from CFDA, were invited online to provide experiences including CFDA’s primary project evaluation proceeding and how the Expert Advisory Committee of CFDA performed its action at the initial stage of CFDA establishment. Those experiences could be as references for ISAF to scientifically develop a supervision and evaluation system.

Director of Choi expressed sincere thanks to MITMI’s warm reception and introduction. He also gave recognition to MITMI’s near 5-months work achievement and the collaboration idea in next step. He said under the premise of law-based administration, ISAF would continually improve its credibility of appraisal and hoped to advance more high-quality Macau registered products to the Mainland market, bringing them to global, which contributed  to achieving  a moderate and diversification economy in Macau and promoteing the development of healthcare and pharmaceutical industry. At the end of the meeting, Ms. Weiyue Zhong stated that MITMI would set up a special team to communicate with ISAF for deepening cooperation basis and expending the cooperation area, which made MITMI become a professional third-party consulting agency.
